The Sai Yai river, which originates in the Khao Yai National Park, offers white water rafting during the wet season from May through to November. The rafting trip involves driving 5 km to the National Park car park and then walking 3 km along a nature trail past Kang Hin Poeng to the top of the rapids. The rafts typically have two crew and can hold up to eight passengers. The rapids range from Class 3 - 5 (intermediate - expert level) with six rapids to navigate, all six have lifeguard stations. The rafting trip will take a total of 4 hours including coming back to Anantrapura on the raft along the slower part of the river.
